Graduation Ceremony of the Basic Insurance Training Programme will be on October 4th |
|
27th Term of the Basic Insurance Training Programme has been concluded in June. The students who have successfully accomplished the program will receive their certificates at the graduation ceremony on 4th of October, 2010.
During the graduation ceremony, TII Turkish Music Choir will offer the guests a pleasant evening with their performance.

TII is planning new university seminars for 2011 |
|
In accordance with demands from universities, TII has started planning new insurance awareness seminars for faculties of economic and administrative sciences; and training seminars for faculties and schools of banking and insurance.
The seminars will be launched in October and faculties of law, science and literature, economic and administrative sciences, agriculture and medicine, will be visited. The topics of the seminars will be selected based on curriculums and preferences of faculties.
Up to date, 22 insurance awareness seminars and 6 training seminars have been organized with extensive interest from university students and academicians.

Applications for membership to the TII Turkish Music Choir in the new season has opened |
|
TII Turkish Music Choir, which has just started working under the umbrella of TII Alumni Club, will start practices in the first week of September.
TII Choir aims at providing a stress – free, cheerful and entertaining atmosphere for employees of the insurance sector and offers free of membership fee within the frame of social responsibility.
After 4 consecutive successful performances widely praised by audiences, the Choir will back to the stage for their 5th performance at the graduation ceremony. For those who want to join the choir must send a short resume to koro@tsev.org.tr until the first week of September.

“Accident Report” e-learning programme by TII in cooperation with TRAMER starts in August |
|
TII has designed “Accident Report” synchronic e-learning programme in cooperation with TRAMER (Turkish Motor TPL Insurance Information Center) as a result of close cooperation with public bodies for the purpose of determining and responding training needs and expectations of the sector when required.
In order to minimize increasing number of incorrect data entries and claims reporting to the system, the training aims at equipping participants with the practical knowledge about the process from loss acceptance to reporting. The training will be conducted on 25th and 26th of August between 18:00-20:00 on the following link: www.tsevakademi.org

A brand new programme from TII: Expertise in Insurance Sales Training Programme |
|
TII has introduced a new expertise training programme along with existing ones designed in accordance with needs and expectations of the sector. The programme, of which the content is developed together with sales executives of insurance companies, is tailored for the most dynamic profile of the sector: sales teams. Participants are expected to possess highly refined sales skills as well as adequate information on insurance branches; advanced knowledge of benefits of insurance, customer psychology, distribution channels and individual and corporate sales at the end of the programme.
Individuals or companies can choose either to go through three modules and 78 hours, in total, at once or complete each module at different times. The programme is planned to be conducted 2 days a week, out of office hours in evening and will start in the week of September, 20th. The application process will be launched in August. The modules of the programme are as follows:
- Insurance Branches, Benefits to Individuals and Corporations
- Management of Sales and Distribution Channels
- Insurance Sales

Statistics and Probability Training Programme for Actuaries starts |
|
Statistics and Probability Training Programme for Actuaries starts on August, 31st, 2010. The programme is designed for employees of the departments of actuaries of companies and prospective actuaries and will be conducted 3 days a week and 3 hours a day out of 30 hours in total. Although, participation is expected mainly from sector professionals, university students and prospective actuaries are also welcomed to the programme.

Advanced Insurance Training Programme for the second time |
|
Advanced Insurance Training Programme for Fire and Engineering Branch will be conducted for the second time in 2010. As the programme is scheduled once a year, the 2010 programme will start in the week of September, 20th. The applications will be proceeding during August.
Same as the previous year, the programme is composed of 28 hours and successful completion is depended on evaluation of the presentation of final project.
Participation is limited with 20 applicants and only the applicants defined below will be considered for the programme;
- Graduates of the Basic Insurance Training Programme – Fire and Engineering Insurance branch
or,
- At least 3 years of experience in Fire and Engineering Departments
In the scope of the programme, following subjects will be discussed at advanced level: All Risks, Fire Insurance and Riders, Machinery Breakdown, Loss of Profit, Electronic Equipment Insurance and Risk Management in Fire and Engineering Insurance.
On the other hand, TII efforts to expand advanced level programmes through other branches are continuing.

Practical and Applied Seminars from TII |
|
As a result of visits paid to insurance companies and sectoral research committees as well as training and HR platforms hosted; TII has detected and been working on a growing need and expectation from the sector for practical and applied seminars. Therefore; the first seminar will be on Marine Claims for senior and experienced insurance professionals. The programme welcomes two different perspectives: law and technical practice in order to enable participants have a better and enhanced vision regarding process from notice of claim to payment.
Moreover, another seminar is being prepared regarding electric welded fire claims.

Preparations for 7th Edition of the Turkey’s First and Only Refereed Journal of Insurance are On |
|
Journal of Insurance Studies is composed of two chapters: “Articles Approved by the Scientific Committee” and “Articles not Submitted for the Approval of the Scientific Committee” and aims at being a reference resource examining technical and theoretical subjects on the agenda of the sector. In the “Articles Approved by the Scientific Committee” section of the journal, there are the articles written in accordance with the academic rules and qualified to be published by the Scientific Committee. In the “Articles not Submitted for the Approval of the Scientific Committee” section, there are researches, studies, analyses and interpretations of the academicians, bureaucrats, experts, students of insurance and actuary, which are approved by the editor.
The authors receive royalty for each articles published in the journal of insurance studies.
Up to date, 51 articles, approved by the Scientific Committee, and 26 articles, not submitted for the approval of the Scientific Committee, has been published in 6th series of the journal.
