Besides its activities to support the development of the insurance sector, TII organizes Turkish Insurance Sector Bowling League to gather the people from the sector, to provide synergy outside the office environment and to use the competition of sports as a means of communication among the employees of different companies. TII organized the 3rd Training and HR Platform on November 4th for the Training and HR Department Heads of private pension companies and on November 11th to the Training and HR Department Heads of elementary insurance companies, the second of which had been organized on May 23rd.
At the 3rd Elementary Insurance Companies Training and HR Platform meeting, Heads of Training and HR Departments stated that the TII training programmes contribute to the development of the sector. The meeting continued with the presentation of Özyüksel on the activities of TII in the 2007-2008 term and on the TII Private Employment Agency. |

TII Short Term Programmes, which began in October, also continued in November. Training programmes on the current implementation of 18 different subjects are offered to the sector. These programmes, including technical as well as soft-skill trainings, which are to the interest of not only insurance sector but also transportation-logistics, law and banking areas, continue to improve itself. TII prepared a training programme for the Private Pension System Intermediaries Examination for the first time this year.
The second term of the Legislation Harmonization Training Programmes prepared for the purpose of informing the sector on the changes of legislation so as to assist them in the implementation, had begun in October and completed with two programmes. Continuing with two new programmes in November, the new term includes “Independent Audit in Insurance Companies Training Programme” by Metin Sarıaslan, Ph.D, Undersecretariat of Turkish Treasury Insurance Supervisory Expert and “Developments in the Legislation Regarding Fiscal Structure, Technical Reserves, Capital Adequacy, Internal Systems, Independent Audit And Financial Reporting in Insurance Sector and Their Implementation” by Şule Avcıoğlu, Head of Department at Undersecretariat of Turkish Treasury Directorate General of Insurance. |

Journal of Insurance Studies, published by TII, is the first and only refereed journal in Turkey on insurance in which the technical and/or theoretical issues in the agenda of the sector are analyzed. |

UN Environment Programme Finance Initiative (UNEP FI), a global partnership between UNEP and the financial sector, carries out regional activities, work programmes, training programmes and research, to identify its mission, to promote, and to realise the adoption of best environmental and sustainability practice. For this purpose, TII has translated the UNEP FI Insurance Working Group report on “Insuring for Sustainability” prepared in 2007.
