In addition to training programmes, researches, publications, projects and private employment agency TII is continuing to offer new services. With the aim of developing the sector, TII is offering its services with the concept of quality and trust and in cooperation with all the actors of the sector.
Sustaining its activities within international standards and taking trust, quality and efficiency as the basis of its services, the TII was awarded the ISO 9001:2000 Quality Certification last September. About the quality certification, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Suna Özyüksel Oksay, General Manager of TII, made the following statement: “As the TII staff, it is among our preferential targets, that our service focused activities add value to the sector. By this certification, the efficiency, quality and reliability of our services have been certified. Our responsibilities to the sector will continue with this understanding”. The first level of the actuary exams were held in Marmara University School of Banking and Insurance in Istanbul, and Hacettepe University Department of Actuarial Sciences in Ankara. TII was the centre for the applications of the exams in Istanbul. According to the Regulation of Actuaries, which was published in the Official Gazette on 15 August 2007 with the number 26614, and came into force on 1 January 2008, the actuary exams should be held at least once a year. |

Registrations for the 2008-2009 26th Term Basic Insurance Training Programme continuing since the foundation of the Institute and from which 25 percent of Turkish insurance sector have graduated, have begun. As it was in the 25th Term, the two groups as morning and evening (working hours and after working hours) will begin on October 13.
TII completed its preparations for last quarter of 2008 Short Term Training Programmes. The calendar of training programmes covering October-November-December is announced to the sector in September. Different from the previous terms, there are 43 training programmes in total with 26 new training programmes and 7 new lecturers. Professionals and academicians specialized in their fields will be lecturing at the training programmes prepared with the aim of meeting different needs with their rich contents. There are various programmes within the scope of 2008 last quarter calendar covering from reinsurance to communication techniques, actuarial calculations to modeling, basic branch trainings to subjects of specialization. 4 new trainings aiming at the HR management processes have been included as different from the previous terms. TII is working in order for Turkish insurance sector to catch the rapid changes in the legislation. Legislation Harmonization Training Programmes, presented to the sector during the last quarter of 2008, with a loaded calendar, is composed of various subjects. The first programme will be “New Arrangements Introduced With the Insurance Agency Regulation and Its Consequences Within the Framework of the Recent Changes”, which was organized in June and which was then decided to be repeated due to the deep interest of the sector that it attracted. Following this programme, “Uniform Charts of Accounts, Related Insurance Accountancy and Related Legislation” training programme will be given by Mustafa Hamamcýoðlu, Head of Branch at the Undersecretariat of Turkish Treasury General Directorate of Insurance. Legislation Harmonization Training Programmes will continue in November and December. |

Journal of Insurance Studies, published by TII, is the first and only refereed journal in Turkey on insurance in which the technical and/or theoretical issues in the agenda of the sector are analyzed.

According to the demand from the employers, the cv’s are scanned from the CV pool in the web site by our professional staff. We make two or three level interviews with the suitable candidates, and apply professional, psychometric, general capability tests. We bring the suitable candidates, which are determined following the interviews, together with the employers, in at most two weeks. TII is invited to make a presentation at the European Conference of the National Institutes for Professional Insurance Education organized annually with the participation of insurance institutes in Europe in a closed session and to which TII had participated for the first time last year. |
