TII has rewarded Pýnar Aydemir, completing the Basic Insurance Training Programme 25th Term as the top student. TII has sent Pýnar Aydemir to “Marine Insurance Seminar Programme” of Munich Re, all the expenses (flight, board and lodging, training fee) of which were covered by TII. Pýnar Aydemir expresses her views about TII Basic Insurance Training Programme and the training opportunity provided as “My field of specialization at TII Basic Insurance Training Programme, to which I participated as an agency, was marine insurance. Because the customer’s portfolio of our company is mainly composed of marine insurance. Since the marine insurances originate from overseas and is a branch which requires more specific and technical know-how than other branches, I enrolled at the TII training programme to improve myself in this field. It is not possible to describe the value of the TII Basic Insurance Training Programme as well as this training opportunity abroad provided by TII due to my top place, to my work and my personality. The seminar with 26 participants from all around the world, warm working atmosphere and intense transfer of knowledge has been a very good experience and an opportunity. I also take pride in qualifying to attend such a programme. Furthermore, what is more important is to be provided by such an opportunity by TII. For this reason, I thank TII for their close attention, understanding and support.”
95 people applied for the first level of the actuarial exam from Istanbul, the registrations for which were taken by Turkish Insurance Institute. New graduates are also included among the candidates of the first level of the actuarial exams which will take place 7-8 September and 14-15 September. The exam will cover “Basic Insurance and Economy”, “Mathematics”, “Statistics and Probability”, “Financial Mathematics”. |

Continuing its training programmes with no break in 2008, TII added Basic Insurance for Actuaries, Mathematics for Actuaries, Financial Mathematics for Actuaries Training Programmes to its quarterly announced training programmes addressing the various needs of the insurance sector. Another new programme included in the Short Term Training Programmes is “Turning Point in Traffic Insurance Tariffs: Transition to Free Tariff in 2008”. The last quarter of Short Term Training Programmes will be announced in September.
The registrations for TII Basic Insurance Training Programme, the only vocational training programme on insurance in Turkey, will begin in September. TII Basic Insurance Training Programme, aiming to have the people working for the insurance sector to specialize in general insurance and in branches, will have morning and evening sessions keeping in mind the working hours of the participants. The first semester of the programme, the content of which is set in accordance with the development of Turkish insurance sector, will be Basic Insurance Training, covering basic vocational courses on insurance, while the second semester will be composed of branch (fire and engineering, casualty, marine, accountancy, health, life insurance) courses. About the 26th Term Basic Insurance Training Programme, TII Director Assoc. Prof. Dr. Suna Özyüksel Oksay stated that “Basic Insurance Training Programme is a programme started by our Institute 38 years ago and from which approximately 20 percent of sector employees have graduated. Many executives and experts from the sector are graduates of this training programme. Last year, in the context of the reorganization process of our Institute, we made arrangements in the content of Basic Insurance Training Programme in accordance with the needs of the sector. We added new courses which were in the agenda of the sector, such as EU Single Insurance Market in a period of European Union harmonization process, Financial Markets and Risk Management. Our seminar series carried out this year, which were complementary courses but were also open to the participants from the sector with no charge, will also continue in this new term. In the 26th Term, we will also be providing innovative and qualified training service at international standards with our staff composed of sector professionals and academicians. I wish success to all the participants who will be with us in the new period. Within the framework of its Environmental Policy, announced in July, TII is set to work in order to obtain the ISO 14001:2004 Environmental Management System Certificate. Together with this Certificate, as an Institute working at the international standards, TII will also pioneer the insurance sector to be more sensitive on environmental issues. |
