TII attended the Career Days at Osmangazi University |

TII joined Career Days in order to introduce insurance sector and the business to the students upon at Osmangazi University.
Ms. Nurhan Sutlas, Head of Public Relations and Marketing Unit and Mr. Batuhan Ozgun, Junior Expert of Education Unit, provided brief information regarding institutions of and employment opportunities in the insurance sector as well as TII’s services and its mission as a bridge between universities and the sector.

Opportunity for high school graduates in insurance business |
|
“Ministry of National Education Certified Insurance Training Programme” is beginning in May. The programme aims at equipping participants with necessary knowledge and experience to carry out their roles in consistent and competent ways in insurance sector. The content is developed based on current regulations and major skills issues facing the sector.
The programme is composed of 170 credits and includes many insurance oriented subjects such as basic insurance, insurance marketing, insurance law, legislations for insurance intermediaries and experts. Graduates are expected to have employment opportunities in insurance and broker companies as well as insurance intermediaries. In order to train qualified workforce who can easily fit in a sector where many European actors are engaged in, the program is also accredited by European Financial Certification Organization - eficert.
Those who successfully complete the programme at the end of 17 weeks will be awarded by certificates certified by Ministry of National Education.

Training Needs of the Sector Determined through the Committees of the Association of the Insurance and Reinsurance Companies of Turkey |

TII continues its efforts to diversify existing training topics and add new topics to its portfolio in accordance with growing training needs as a result of increasing competition and changing conditions based on public initiatives and market dynamics.
Along with close cooperation with public authorities, TII has taken place in committee meetings of the Association of the Insurance and Reinsurance Companies of Turkey in order to exchange views and ideas regarding occupational trainings and to determine training needs at its primary resource. The committee meetings that TII attended during April were Non-Life Claims, Marine Insurance, Liability Insurance and Financial and Accounting.

Applications are welcome for the Short Term Training Programmes in May |

9 training topics are offered among the Short Term Training Programmes in various expertise areas from life insurance to accountancy, from brand management to law during May. Among these training topics, a recently completed at the last term of 2009 and extensively participated training subject; “The Concept of Supplementary Health Insurance and Its Relation with Social Health Scheme” in addition to a new training subject in brand management area will take place in May term training schedule. “Internal Systems” Training Programme for Insurance Sector in cooperation with Price Waterhouse Coopers (PwC) |

Turkish Insurance Institute has initiated “Internal Systems” training programme in order to equip insurance companies with crucial knowledge and experience in structuring risk management and internal audit systems. The programme aims at encouraging companies, in accordance with legal regulations and constantly changing market conditions, to avoid traditional concepts.
The training is jointly undertaken by one of the leading institution in Turkey in the area of industry oriented supervision, tax and consultancy, PwC; and Turkey’s first and only insurance oriented training and research institution, Turkish Insurance Institute. The framework is built on COSO I – Internal Controls and COSO II – Enterprise Risk Management.
Participation is strongly advised for executives, managers and assistant managers of risk management, internal audit and internal control departments, and for those who are in charge of structuring or developing risk management, internal control and internal auditing systems.

17th of Research and Studies on Insurance: “Insurance in Micro Finance Model” published |

“Insurance in Micro Finance Model” includes fundamentals of insurance services within micro finance model which is considered as crucial in fighting against poverty.
The book studies major subjects such as; the scope and the institutions of micro financing, micro insurance applications in the world and the future of micro insurance.

TII’s quality on training standards has been proven once again: “Ministry of National Education certified Insurance Training Programme” is accredited by eficert! |
|
Ministry of National Education certified Insurance Training Programme which is developed by TII in order to train qualified intermediaries for insurance sector, has officially been accredited by European Financial Certification Organization - eficert. TII has been carrying out its efforts since 2008.
Those who successfully complete the program will be awarded by eficert approved and member states wise recognized certificates.
Eficert has been functioning since November, 2002, in order to develop common standards in vocational training for European financial services. TII joined eficert as an active member in November, 2007, which welcomes one representative from each country. Until now, only 7 member states’ applications for accreditation have been granted out of 17 members.
