TII held a Press Meeting presenting its action plan in raising the quality and the quantity of employment in insurance sector |
|
Unemployment is one of the most important problems in Turkey. According to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute, unemployment rate is about 14% in Turkey. It is considered as essential to raise the quantity of employment in every sector in terms of challenging unemployment.
Prof. Dr. Suna Özyüksel presented Turkish Insurance Institute’s efforts in raising the quality and the quantity of employment in insurance sector during the press meeting organized at TII on 18th of March. Prof. Dr. Özyüksel stated that finance sector became prominent as one of the most influential sector, in challenging unemployment, based on works of Ministry of Labour and Social Security. A comparison between finance sectors in developed countries and Turkey in terms of total assets notes that, Turkey has not reached its potential, particularly in insurance sector. This fact clearly underlines growth potential of the sector. .

TII Seminar Series Ended |
|
Third of the TII Seminar Series ended following the seminars organized in March. The Seminar Series contained 7 different subjects and were organized as a part of the Basic Insurance Training Programme in order to enrich the vision of its participants. Besides, the series also welcomed general participation upon demand from the sector and brought insurance professionals together with leading professionals in various sectors.
On 4th of March, Mr. Ertan Fırat, the General Manager of Aviva Insurance, made a presentation titled “What kind of a Future from a Chaotic Environment? / Possible Career Opportunities”. He evaluated the current situation of the insurance sector and projected his future forecast from the point of view of a professional insurance manager.
A very well known member of economy press, Ms. Meliha Okur made comments on subjects from Turkey’s recent agenda in her “Turkey’s Economic and Political Initiative” themed speech.

A different point of view to the concept of “Leadership” |
|
In the organization of TII and in cooperation with THYMOS, “Modern Management and Leadership” training programme welcomed Training and HR managers from 21 insurance companies on 25th and 26th of March.
Participants were encouraged to embrace a different dimension in their perception of leadership. At the end of the programme, being presented with a solid expression and rich content, participants received their certificates.

TII introduced insurance business to the students of Istanbul Ar-el University |
|
TII gave a seminar on insurance business during the “Career Days” of Istanbul Ar-el University. Ms. Özgür Kayserilioğlu, Director of Human Resources Unit of AEGON Pension and Life, and Mr. Murat Gümüş, Training Director of the same company, accompanied with Ms. Nurhan Sütlaş Head of the TII Public Relations, Communications and Marketing Unit, in the event.
Following Ms. Sütlaş’s presentation about TII, Mr. Kayserlioğlu and Mr. Gümüş made a presentation about career opportunities at AEGON and the sector.

“Accounting Applications in Insurance Companies, Financial Analysis and Supervision Training Programme” focuses on financial and capital adequacy statements. Besides, evaluating a company’s financial and technical position, and projecting future forecasts based on financial statements, technical results and ratios are other subjects that the training programme aims at providing expertise.

6th issue of Journal of Insurance Studies, which includes theoretical and technical information from academicians and experts, and which researches theoretical and technical issues in the agenda of insurance sector, is published.
As the first and only refereed journal on insurance, Journal of Insurance Studies is delivered to public institutions, universities, authors and libraries of relevant institutions.

Articles Welcome For The 7th Journal Studies |
|
Following the publication of the 6th issue of the Journal of Insurance Studies, preparations have started for the 7th issue.
The journal welcomes both “Articles Approved by the Science Committee” and “Articles not Submitted for the Approval of the Science Committee”. At the chapter where articles approved by the Science Committee take place, articles are written in accordance with academic rules and qualified to be published by the Science Committee. At the articles not submitted for the approval of the Science Committee chapter; articles, researches, analyses, translations, approved by the editor and sent by academicians, bureaucrats, experts and students, take place.
